Philippines' Duterte threatens to end peace talks after NPA attack
Well, you would have thought the NPA was an extinct movement by now--it is Asia's longest running insurgency. But, dire political, social injustices like corruption and economic problems confronting the Philippines continue today; consequently, there will always be a spot for the Communist Party of the Philippines and the New People's Army until those issues are solved. ReplyDeleteI think there will be a place for the communist rebels as long as the Philippines leaders in power are so corrupt. Once the middle class and poor feel they have a equal chance to advance i doubt any one will support the rebels. Things seem to be getting better a little at a time over there and the life of the average family is much better than just a few years back.
