Philippines' Duterte threatens to end peace talks after NPA attack


Well, you would have thought the NPA was an extinct movement by now--it is Asia's longest running insurgency.  But, dire political, social injustices like corruption and economic problems confronting the Philippines continue today; consequently, there will always be a spot for the Communist Party of the Philippines and the New People's Army until those issues are solved.     Wish they could get that mess cleaned up so it would be safe to visit that part of the Philippines.

    I think there will be a place for the communist rebels as long as the Philippines leaders in power are so corrupt. Once the middle class and poor feel they have a equal chance to advance i doubt any one will support the rebels. Things seem to be getting better a little at a time over there and the life of the average family is much better than just a few years back.
